This is a pre-alpha project that I'm only really building for myself. If other people start using it, I'll make it prettier. Until then, meh.

On your GPS-enabled smartphone whenever you're standing somewhere and think "I might want to come back here again" or "I might want to tell people about this spot".
Because I want to be able to bookmark random real world locations. Everything from dive sites to random back alley bars that I don't know the name of.
FourSquare / Gowalla / Facebook Places don't make sense for these scenarios.
From time to time I'll want to share a specific mark with someone. Hence, each mark has a permalink like http://ivebeen.to/tathamoddie/22.
If somebody trusts my view of the world, they might want to see if I've made any marks in an area they're in or are going to. Hence, you can also see a full map of my marks at http://ivebeen.to/tathamoddie or grab a feed at http://ivebeen.to/tathamoddie.kml.
There's no way to see all the marks in the system. This is about each person having their own view of what's cool rather than some aggregated voting mess that just ends up with averages.
